Abraham-Hicks: Breaking free from addiction, 12 steps

I just listened to a couple of sections of the Beyond the 12 Steps DVD. Abraham is pointing out that addiction to substances are an attempt to regain control of our experience, when our true empowerment comes from realizing that we have the power to change our thoughts and feel better.

There were some soothing thoughts that I liked and wanted to share. Abraham describes what they would say to someone who was addicted and wanted to break free.

The first thing we would say to them is, you have greater control of your life than you know, but it’s all right if you don’t know it right now.

That seems like the perfect stance for any situation in which we feel overwhelmed or can't find the better feeling thoughts. I also liked the thought that the addiction is the desire to feel better in a world where the person doesn't feel in control.

If you could separate your body from this substance for as short as three days, the cellular calling would cease. No matter what it is, the cellular calling would cease. But we don’t think it’s the cellular craving that is at the heart of these addictions. It’s the vibrational imbalance and the insatiable desire to feel better in a world that you can’t find a way of feeling better because it feels like it’s in control of you. So you have to come back into your personal power, before, before you have control of what’s happening in your experience....

Do you know that when we address an audience like this it is very common to find these students and teachers of Abraham to also be in the classification of addicted to some sort of drug or alcohol. And the reason is that you came forth with such intensity of wanting to uplift. The knowing within you of who you really are is vibrating so powerfully within you that when something in your society or in your family or up close to you caused you to see life or see yourself as different than who you really are because your stream was flowing so powerfully you took it really, really hard. In other words, you’re sensitive and it’s painful and then you want to do something to mute the pain.

Abraham-Hicks, Beyond the 12 Steps: Breaking Free of Addiction DVD

There are as many paths to empowerment and alignment as there are people. Appreciation and loving self are lovely paths.

We wish every moment of your experience to be joyful like it is for us. We want you to look around your world and not worry, but to revel in its beauty. We want you to look around your own life and not worry, but to revel, in its magnificence. We want you to look at your own body and not nitpick about a wrinkle or an extra pound, or 20 or 30 or 40.

We want you to look at yourself and adore yourself. If you will make this small effort to appreciate you and what is yours now, you will soften, so quickly, any resistance that has been keeping you apart from the things you want. It is the magic formula that you’ve been looking for. It is the key to your blending. It is the key to your allowing. It is the key to you getting what you want. It is the key to your abundance, your clarity, and to your stamina. It is the key to your energy. It is the key to your vitality. It is the key to your flexibility. It is the key to your wellness. It is the key to all things that feel good to you.

Make some small effort, every chance you get, at looking at where you stand now and doing your best to soothe and appreciate you now, to soothe and appreciate your Now.

Intentions: The process of becoming and being

I've written many times about my favorite deliberate creating tool, intentions, and how powerful they are for me. I like to start my day by sitting down and just listening inside to what I would like to create each day. As I do this I write it down in a spiral notebook. When I'm doing this listening and writing I feel like I'm looking inside my body and summoning who I am into my conscious awareness. Vague desires about what I would like to be or have become much clearer to me.

When I first wrote intentions they were for things I wanted to get done during the day. I might have written that I wanted the energy and enthusiasm to clean the kitchen. I realized how powerful they were when I found that I walked into these creations during the day and all of a sudden I would find myself easily and energetically getting things done.

I became more interested in writing desires for states of being than for getting things done. As a matter of fact, I've been exploring the desire to merge with my extended self and live in a blended state of balance in this physical experience. I would ask myself what that would be like this moment, this day and listen for the answer. I was just looking through a notebook filled with daily intentions and realized my process for working with intentions has been the merging and blending I asked for. When I listen and pull forth the desires, they are my desires for "becoming." As I clarify, my extended self becomes my desire immediately. And during the day I have been walking into and "being" what it is I asked for. I've been feeling like I've been creating myself every day. It's like I've been writing a story of who I am and then living it. Very interesting!

I'm very excited about this new awareness and feel I can really begin to play with creating. I feel like anything is possible!
You have not come here to prove yourselves worthy. You've come here because you saw physical life experience as delicious and you wanted the experience. You wanted the environment, you wanted the data, you wanted the process, you wanted the sensualness, you wanted the physicalness of thought, you wanted the combination of that which you are from Inner Perspective and that which you are from physical perspective -- because the combination is so very, very good.

Trust your desires, they are good and they are who you really are

Abraham often uses the analogy of traveling from Phoenix to San Diego to explain the value of our feelings. Emotions are sign posts on whatever journey we are traveling in the same way the mile post signs point the way to San Diego. Our positive feelings on the subject tell us we are going in the direction of our desires. Source Energy and our Inner Being go immediately to our desires so our negative feelings give us the measure of the gap we think is there between us and our desires.

One journey I am on is turning around some thinking about my body that came from experiences when I was very young. The conflicting beliefs are those I heard or chose to think from my experiences.

I feel strongly about the direction I want to go, natural health and thinking my way to Well-Being. When we feel strongly about taking a certain path in spite of what others think or say, even doctors, it's important to see our desire as positive. It is ours. Our Inner Being IS our desires manifested in spirit. It is who we are.

And Source does lead us in the way we want to go. It’s a matter of listening to the emotional guideposts in that direction and following the impulses to take action. It may be supplements or eating a certain way. I have been guided to wonderful doctors and healers in my life.

I have been back around family for several years now and those old beliefs were activated. This area doesn't seem to be as rich in the open thinking and healing resources I had before. I felt conflict between what others (doctors and others) said and what I wanted to do. I realized that even here, the choice is to believe in my desires and all else will fall into place.

This post is meant to be an encouragement to you if you have a desire that doesn't seem to fit what you have been taught in the past or that others don't agree with now.
Faster than you can speak it, the Energy begins to flow and circumstances and events, in an orchestration that we cannot begin to describe, begin to take place in order to give you exactly what you want -- and if it were not for your resistance, it would come really fast, you see.

You don't have to keep telling the Universe what you want. You really only have to tell the Universe once. The advantage of continuing to talk about it is that you get clearer about it. In other words, usually you cannot speak everything that you want with your first statement, and so, the more you talk about it the more you fine-tune it.

But as you say, I want it, the Universe begins it, and then you say, I would like it to be this way, and the Universe modifies that, and then you say a little bit of this would be nice, and the Universe...you see what we're getting at? And once you are clear about what you want, once you have zeroed in on it and you know what you want -- it is on the way to you. It is done. The manifestation of it will probably follow later, because there is, most often, enough resistance so that you don't have it instantly.

The Universe will never fail you.

The Universe will always give you what you have asked for. The question is, how soon will you allow it?

Abraham-Hicks: What it means when we "read" another's vibration

In Abraham's Syracuse, NY workshop, October 1, 2003, the gentleman in the hot seat told Abraham that when he is interacting with others he's beginning to feel their vibration.

I'm paraphrasing Abraham here who answered that it’s like a reading about the person, but it's more about this man's relationship to where he wants to go. It gives him a reading about how that person's vibration is affecting him. As he focuses on another's vibration it becomes part of his vibration. In this way he can tell the people who are a good match for him.

Abraham was saying to be willing to read others, but don’t make it too important. You have already asked the Universe to match you. So if someone is before you who is not a good match, don’t delve too deeply into the reading because then you try to explain why you’re getting the reading. “I’m not making this up. I can really feel that they’re not going to do what I want them to do.” All that does is hold you in that vibration longer which makes that distance all the further apart. [end paraphrasing.]

I don't have the quote, but in another workshop Abraham said if we had a bad feeling it didn't mean something bad would happen, it was just a measure of the distance between our beliefs and where we were focusing our attention and where our extended self was focusing attention.

I have had intuitions since I was in high school and always thought of it as guidance from Spirit. I like this information. My feelings are not a prediction of something outside of myself that I have no control over, it's still a measure of the distance between my Inner Being and my focus and how I'm thinking -- that's something I have the power to change.

One thing I've always liked about Abraham's information is how empowering it is. We really do have control over our experience this way. We have control over how we feel and that's what it's all about.

Contrast helps you to identify desire. Desire is summoning. It's always flowing through you. You have the opportunity of opening to the harmony of the vibration of your desire or not. As the desires are being summoned through you, and you go with the flow, you thrive, but if you use things to be your excuse for not going with the flow, you are arguing for your limitations. We want to show you how to go with the flow. Which means nothing more than finding vibrational harmony with your own desire, and letting the Universal Energy that your desire is summoning to it flow to it through you. It is optimum creative experience.

Abraham-Hicks: Decluttering and manifestation

I really enjoy the process of decluttering and have been going through my stuff looking for things no longer needed or wanted. Things I don't need just seem like dead weight taking up space.

As I pick up each item I listen within and ask if I'm going to need it or not and ask what to do with it. Thoughts of people who might like it pop into my head. Any action I want to take has become clear. Years ago I held yard sales, but it doesn't appeal to me now. But it's so useful, I might get money for it! Well, the thing is that money comes to me easily in other ways that are fun. When I first found out about Abraham I found a $100 bill on the sidewalk -- not near a house or car -- just laying there smiling at me. Is this loving Universe playful or what!?

I have the opportunity to let go of old beliefs, too. This time I'm noticing that a lot of the things I've kept were "just in case they might come in handy some day." The pull to keep them is still there (but it's so useful!). I notice it's getting easier and easier to let go of that belief as I go along and it's becoming fun to choose thoughts that feel better. As a matter of fact I feel an impatience with it. I have a growing feeling of confidence that whatever I need is provided for me right now. What manifestation of a new desire will I have today? Every day is like Christmas!

I was listening to a 2004 workshop where Abraham said this:
You'll get so good at manifesting that ten years from now we'll be holding seminars on demanifestation. What to do with all this stuff that I thought I wanted that now I have to dust.

Abraham-Hicks, San Diego, CA, February 7, 2004
When I heard that I realized that decluttering is an experience of abundance. I wanted those things and they came to me! I think having more than enough, so that it seems like clutter, was just part of a lack consciousness I had at the time. But I allowed and received in abundance. It's really fun to feel free and let go realizing that I have different desires now and things will still come to me in an abundant steady stream.

Are you interested in decluttering and simplifying your life? I highly recommend Leo Babauta at Zen Habits, an optimistic man who has made life-changing transformations one step at a time. I am so attracted to his way of thinking, but it's so different from my old beliefs that I hadn't embraced it. I feel ready and eager now!

In his Simple Living Manifesto, Leo gives 72 easy to implement ideas to get us started. He begins by saying:
A simple life has a different meaning and a different value for every person. For me, it means eliminating all but the essential, eschewing chaos for peace, and spending your time doing what’s important to you.

It means getting rid of many of the things you do so you can spend time with people you love and do the things you love. It means getting rid of the clutter so you are left with only that which gives you value.

However, getting to simplicity isn’t always a simple process. It’s a journey, not a destination, and it can often be a journey of two steps forward, and one backward....

The Short List

For the cynics who say that the list below is too long, there are really only two steps to simplifying:

Identify what’s most important to you.
Eliminate everything else.
Above all, enjoy the memories, enjoy letting go or finding an old treasure that was forgotten. Keeping things because they are useful or beautiful, uplifting when you look at them. It doesn't matter if we keep it or let go, only that we find joy in the journey. @>----

Abraham-Hicks: You are doing extremely well.

I just listened to a workshop from Billings, MT in 2003 and there was so much good information there. Newer workshops are more focused on the vortex because more people are aware of it and able to move into it easily. The earlier workshops were more often about people learning deliberate creating techniques like pivoting or asking basic questions about how it all works. I always learn so much each time I listen to any of them. There were many things I heard that I thought would make good posts, but Abraham's closing statement is especially important and a good reminder to me.

...you would all do just fine if you never heard a word of any of this from us. You are natural thrivers. And a little bit of appreciation is all that is needed to be added to the recipe of that which is you....

Nothing's broken here. We know this has been an environment of fine-tuning. And the most important thing that we are wanting to leave you with is: You are doing extremely well and it is only going to get better and better....

We know that over time you convince yourself that there are things that need to be brought back into alignment. But we are here to remind you that you are born aligned and that alignment is an easy thing for you. Your emotions will guide you incrementally into your alignment.

Just relax and be easier about it. Be more playful. Work less hard. Recognize things to appreciate and criticize less often.... Let relaxing and feeling good be more important to you than getting something done. Say to yourself on a very regular basis, "I'm going to savor more and fix less." And we really want that to be the mantra of these gatherings. These are workshops to enhance joy, not workshops to fix trouble.

There is great love here for you....

A Note from the Universe

I need your help with this one.

Please, just for a second, hold out the palm of your
hand and give it a quick glance. Now imagine a
miniaturized version of a loved one carefully and
comfortably resting in it. Feel waves of your love
blanketing this precious being. Imagine seeing the
life of this loved one playing out in your palm and
feeling their every joy and sadness. Imagine reading
his or her mind and wanting nothing for yourself
except to see their dreams come true.

Then you smile radiantly, filled with pride and joy,
knowing that they are always safe, always provided
for, never alone, and inescapably destined to learn of
these truths for themselves. You smile because you
know that the day of their awakening swiftly
approaches, as does their own sublime joy and the
manifestation of their boldest dreams.

Okay, that should do it.

Now, can you also imagine that "someone else"
right this very moment is smiling down at you as
you play out your life in the palm of their hand?

Yours truly,

The Universe

Feel what it's like to have that desire

Hooboy, I have a shiny new deliberate creating tool. I've been writing about my journey to close the gap and feel good about long-term goals for several posts. In my last post, Abraham-Hicks on Winning the lottery pt 2, I was watching a video of an Abraham workshop where they asked how it would feel to win the lottery. I immediately felt it: Powerful! I could do anything!

Last night I was listening to an Abraham workshop tape and got in the Abe zone. I have a desire to walk easily and effortlessly and asked myself how it would feel.

FREE!!!!

I could go anywhere anytime I wanted to. I could walk for miles. I could walk in museums, walk along a beach, walk in a forest, climb hills, jump from stone to stone across a stream, dance, hop, skip, jump, run like the wind!!!

Free. Free. Free. Free. FREEEEEEEE!!!!!! Free. Free. Freeeeee. :)

Oh, boy. I like practicing THAT feeling! :)

When I had the realization last night that I would feel free I instantly flashed on how much I had practiced not feeling free in my life. Almost every day when I was working. Anytime I went somewhere or did something I didn't want to do. Anytime I told myself I should do something instead of what I felt like doing. I'm retired now and I still do it. My home is cluttered with things I am sorting to sell or give away -- things I "should" do something with. I haven't felt good at times and it's not clean. So what?!! It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what other people think. It doesn't matter if someone else thinks it should look a certain way. It just doesn't matter!!

Today, it just doesn't matter!! I do whatever I want whenever I want to. I'm free!

Want some more inspiration? Artist Annie Coe, the Blissful-Bohemian, was inspired by a dream to leap before she looks . She's been taking chances with her life and art and is inspired to new paintings and techniques she's shown us here and here. I told her this must have been what it was like for those who watched Paul Klee develop his work. She has set herself free and it's great fun for me to see what she comes up with next.

Abraham-Hicks on Winning the lottery pt 2

I talked about Part I of the Abraham video on winning the lottery in my August 2nd post, Abraham-Hicks: an example of bridging the gap in a long-held belief.

I just watched Part II and the pieces fell in place. Abraham is asking the same man what it feels like to win the lottery and my immediate response was POWERFUL!! I felt powerful when I said it. Filled up with that feeling. I wrote it down and then went on a rampage of what I would do with this river of money and how much fun it would be.

What does it feel like to win the lottery?

I feel powerful!

I feel free.
It’s fun! It’s playful!
I don’t have to worry about anyone or anything. There is an endless river of prosperity that is mine alone. Everyone has theirs too so they can all play, but this is MY play time!!! I get to choose what to do with my river of prosperity and I do. I can spend endless amounts of money doing things that are fun to me....I pull in money to do all of this easily and effortlessly. I am guided to the exact right, loving people to help me manage this money and manage these programs. We all work together in integrity and cooperation. It’s fun all along the way. It’s exciting all the way. I am in the vortex regarding my body. I attract all the right people for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I want to do, be or have. I have SO MUCH FUN!!! I take trips to exciting places. I am a powerful influence of Well-Being....I make dreams come true because my dreams come true through them as well as theirs. I am a force of Love in this physical experience of mine. I walk easily. My body is strong and healthy. I am safe, snuggled in my vortex on every level of my being. I have so much fun playing in this abundant stream of prosperity and new things open up for me all the time. I am guided and protected and safe and comforted by Well-Being every step of the way. This is me creating in my universe and all is well here. All is well everywhere.

I really got it. Abraham is saying we have to be in the vortex and be the vibration of our desire to allow what we want to manifest. I get it! I love the thought of being my expanded self in this experience. I love feeling good. I am so excited to create as I intended when I came into this physical experience.

Everything we want to be, do and have really is ours. It's who we are. We can't miss. All we have to do is keep turning to our desires. Sometimes I can turn from the contrast to my vortex easily and then other times I might turn or pivot my thoughts 50 times in succession and then use other methods until I find something that works. Even when there is extreme contrast, the more I practice pivoting the easier it gets.

These are some of the ways I turn to well-being:

I listen to one of the Abraham meditations every day
I choose better feeling thoughts
Set intentions
Listen to what I'm feeling and ask myself what I want
Distract myself with a book, movie, take a drive, appreciate nature, do something intellectually interesting or creative
Listen to an Abraham tape or CD or a YouTube video
List appreciations
Sometimes chocolate's the thing!

We were comfortable with the vibration of what we were looking at before and now it's all about becoming comfortable with the vibration of the expanded self that we really are. We are asking for our desires because of who we want to be if we have them. Not for the things themselves, but for those delicious feelings.

I feel so much love. I thank the man that asked that question. He was absolutely perfect. So honest about where he was and so willing to allow. I could see in the second video where he accepted his desire.

I appreciate the contrast in my body, my life and those around me for being the springboard for me to send off my desires and seek and find clarity.

I love and appreciate President Obama and I feel so much appreciation for him and for the mix of contrast in our country and our world. It has been very, very powerful for me to look at the contrast around him, send off my desires, and to do the work every day to turn to the love and solutions in my vortex.

I think of all the desires shooting off from everyone and that huge vortex of Well-Being that has grown because of it. Abraham says it is bigger now than it has ever been. As we each allow, we bring that golden light of creativity, love, understanding and solutions into manifestation. As we join together, we open this physical experience more to loving manifestations.

I embrace and focus on the love that moves in all things and all people, knowing all that while that I am responsible for myself and my own alignment and balance no matter what. How gloriously freeing to know that.

I have been listening to a YouTube playlist of Secret Garden while I wrote this and the video below was just playing. Their beautiful music seems part of this post and I include Prayer by Secret Garden:

Sleep, angels will watch over you
And soon beautiful dreams will come true

Abraham-Hicks: an example of bridging the gap in a long-held belief

In this Abraham workshop video, the questioner has a long-held desire: he had a dream years ago that he would win the lottery. Today it is $93 million dollars and he wants to win it today.

Like the questioner you may believe that your desire is there for you in your vortex, but just not know how to get there from here. What I really like about this workshop is how Abraham is showing how to pivot from observing "what is" to our vortex and our desires.

Abraham says “....we know that it’s yours and we know you can find access to it. You don’t know that yet because you haven’t practiced it enough to know it. Because you’re still, human being that you are, you’re letting the evidence that manifests be the criteria that lets you believe. We’re letting what’s in the vortex be the criteria that makes us believe, you see.”
The questioner says he believes it is there and that there is a gap. Then Abraham goes on a rampage of bridging statements.
Abraham: “I believe there is a gap in my expectation. I believe I can close the gap in my expectation. I believe my emotions are the key to closing the gap in my expectation. I believe that hopeful is in the vicinity of the vortex. I believe that believing is inside the vortex. I believe that “knowing” is in the vortex in a chronic consistent way. I believe that I have access to these dollars. I believe that these dollars are there for me. I believe that there is a path to them that will be an easy path for me. I believe that the path is through the vortex. I believe that the path is through my emotions. I believe the path is through the alignment with Source Energy that is really the larger part of me. I believe my emotions tell me truly. I believe that when I’m frustrated I’m not there. I believe that when I’m hopeful I’m closer. I believe that when I’m happy I’m there. I believe that when I appreciate I’m there. I believe that when I make peace with what is I’m there. I believe that when I appreciate the processes of my life that caused me to put that solution there that I’m there. I love every struggle that I’ve lived because that’s been the fodder that put this there. I believe that the well-being that I’ve lived and the well-being that hasn’t felt so much like well-being has put it there for me. I know that I’m the creator of my own reality. I know that these things are true. I know that I get to live the manifestational version of all of that. I believe that I can live the manifestational version of that. I think there’s evidence all over this planet of people who stood right where I am standing in terms of finances and had a vortex just like I do that was all queued up for them and they just found the way in. And I don’t have to find the identical way in. I don’t have to run around and look for people and say, “how did you get your money? How did you get your money? How did you get your money?” because it’s different for every one of us. But one thing that is a common denominator who has succeeded in anything they’ve been reaching for is that they found a way to be a vibrational match to what they were asking for. And that’s all I’ve gotta do. That’s the piece I’m looking for.

[When we come back from break] ....we will show you that the abundance you have put in your vortex. Talk about a jackpot. Talk about a jackpot. If you could see the veritable fortune that you have gathered that is vibrationally queued up for you. That you have immediate access to. But it’s not through action. It’s through the emotional journey. And once you train yourself into emotional alignment with the energy of your vortex until it feels more normal to expect good things than to expect bad things. Until it feels more normal to feel prosperous than to feel shortage. Until it feels normal. You’ve got to practice the feeling of normalcy. And the tricky thing is how can I feel something that I don’t have evidence to support? And that will really be the subject of this afternoon’s discussion. How can I train my vibration apart from the reality that I’m observing to comply with the reality that I’ve created? That is deliberate creating at it’s best. Good time for segment of lunch.
I haven't watched Part II yet, but I'm looking forward to viewing it. I can work on my thoughts and I'm getting better and better at pivoting and turning to Well-Being.

These are my intentions for the next step: I have such a clear understanding of how this all works that it is easy and fun to observe the contrast and even appreciate it as I turn to my vortex and enjoy the good things there. I am absolutely at home with my true self in my vortex. My life is a delightful dance between observing contrast and turning to my vortex to enjoy the instant solutions there.

As I said, I haven't watched part II yet, but here's the link:

Update on manifesting long-held desires

Since I wrote the previous post about long-held desires I realized, in my thinking, there was a big gap between me and the desires. I knew they were possible to have. Other people had what I wanted. I believed that when I asked it was given and they are in my vortex, 99% created as Abraham has explained. But I could tell that I didn't think they were possible for me as I was then and that I thought I would have to be a different person to have them. I would have to be "more."

My previous post describes how I merge the physical and spiritual. When I described listening inside, I am listening to Source Energy in my vortex saying, "Come this way," as the next steps for my desires are given to me. By listening and taking action I become more confident. I open up to the "more" I thought I needed - more of who I truly am. I practice the vibration of who I am and it becomes familiar to me instead of looking around outside of me and becoming familiar with what is outside.
When you see something you want, and you give it your attention, and you say yes to it, you are including whatever its vibration is in your vibration. When you see something you do not want, and you shout no at it, you are including whatever its vibration is in your vibration.

Abraham-Hicks, Portland, OR, July 11, 1999
So, the trick is to look outside at the contrast to inspire our desires, and then turn to the solutions in our vortex.

I can see that this intentions, list-making technique works for me because it makes the next-step desires very short term -- just for that day or for a morning or an hour. I make the steps as small as I want them to be for me to be able to take action and feel good. If it doesn't feel good I don't do it. If it doesn't feel good to do the list anymore, I throw it away. If making a list doesn't feel like fun, then I don't make one, but I am aware that every day there is an interest inside me for action(s) of some type or another. When I take action on those feelings things get done easily and quickly and I feel good about it. Sometimes I step on my own toes in deciding what to do and when, but basically there is a dance between these impulses from within and new desires I have during the day.

I've been intrigued by my vortex and have spent time just listening inside and exploring. Abraham says my desires are answered instantly and I played with asking and then listening for the answer which did indeed come instantly.

If I ask for a feeling or clarity or a "thing" it is there in my vortex. Allowing becomes feeling that feeling I want or having the clarity or thoughts that I wanted. Those are manifestation just as much as things are.

My vortex contains the manifested desires, but most important to me is that this is my expanded self. It's the self that I want to be when I send out my desire.

I don't have to please anyone or fit into society or look a certain way to be who I am. Other people don't have to understand why I do what I do or believe as I do or understand me. I don't have to do the right thing or pay my dues to have what I want. The outer world is old manifestation and old energy. The action is the new, vibrant energy in my vortex and the only thing I have to do to live in that new exciting energy is relax and be myself.
Put all your attention on where you are going and all your angst about where you were or where you are just fades away.

Abraham-Hicks, West Los Angeles, CA, January 31, 2004A
I'm having exciting results with something physical in a few short days. But more importantly, I'm feeling more like myself. Whole. I am strong. I am healthy. My body is wonderful! I now know that what I want is possible and it's so exciting. I feel at peace about all of it and each day is an adventure. What new exciting impulses, thoughts, desires and manifestations will I have next?! I feel like anything I want is possible.
Your conclusion that there isn't enough of something whether it is enough land, or money, or clarity stems from you learning, without meaning to, a vibration that holds you apart from what you want. There is no limitation. If you identify a desire for it, Source recognizes your desire, and immediately begins to deliver it to you. And it will manifest in the variety, in the fullness, and in the way that you, and only you, learn to allow it.

Abraham-Hicks, San Francisco, CA, March 8, 2003
We love seeing you here in these physical bodies recognizing the guidance system that is within you. And we want to talk about that here today because we see so many of our friends who are physical humans, who are setting aside the guidance that comes forth from within and trying to replace it with someone else’s version of what they ought to be doing....

Nobody’s perspective matters more than yours because nobody can tend to your vibrational countenance. Nobody can adjust the vibration of you. Nobody else has their hand on the lever or on the valve that controls the degree to which you allow your alignment or not, and when you let someone else guide you, so that you’re not paying attention to your own alignment with Source, you can get mixed upside down and all around to the degree that you do not know what to think about anything, and then you’re just listening to the loudest voice....

And we’re wanting you to understand, it’s not the loudest voice, it’s the consistent voice. It’s the voice that does not waver. It’s the voice that never stops saying to you, “You are worthy, and you are love, and you are well-being, and you deserve to live well.” It’s the voice that never stops saying, “Well-being abounds, and Source Energy flows,” and if you will work to align with the vibration that feels like that, you must thrive. And no one can ever take your thriving away from you. No one can take your freedom away from you.

How to feel better about those long-held desires

I was listening to Abraham's introductory comments on a workshop tape and had an insight about my long-held desires. Abraham is talking about the newly hatched desires feeling good to us. For me they definitely do. I love when the ideas just come into my mind like fireworks on the 4th of July, one after another. I'm caught up in them, enjoying them for their own sake. I realize that all my life I've enjoyed the creativity of new ideas and planning them more than maintaining them once they are manifested. As a matter of fact my jobs have often included setting up some new process for a company or learning new software.
You are enjoying the evolution of your desire? You are feeling the freshness of a newly hatched desire? You are enjoying the continuation of not so newly hatched desires that have not yet manifested? (audience laughs) It's easier to feel good about the newly hatched desires isn't it?

~~Abraham-Hicks, October 11, 2003A, Tarrytown, NY
I do have some long-held desires and I would love to feel better about them. Abraham goes on to say if they become unpleasant:
So, you have two options. You can either let it go altogether and have a truly emotional break. Or you can change the way you feel about it.
Being a deliberate reality creator means choosing thoughts that feel good and they will feel good because they are in alignment with our desires. We can also use action to feel better for conditions like pain that we can't avoid. We can distract ourselves with any pleasurable activity that feels good and helps us relax -- like a funny movie or book, a craft we enjoy, being in nature, getting a massage, a hug or talking with friends. It softens the resistance to the pain and fear. The action we choose can walk hand-in-hand with better feeling thoughts.

When I was listening to Abraham I realized I could try something new using the deliberate creating tools I enjoy the most. I can transform those long-term desires into new ones. I like the idea that I can come at the desire from directions that already feel good to me and that I have used successfully to manifest before. I know they work for me.

One technique is setting intentions and the other is making lists. Each morning I sit down, listen inside to my desires and write the intentions of being in alignment. It feels very good and I can really get on a roll. Any time during the day when I start feeling down I write some intentions or think them and I feel better.

When I feel overwhelmed with many things to do, I write lists. Intentions focus energy and I create a list in the same way. I listen inside to hear my desires and create lists for everything I want to get done in a room, or what I want to do on my computer, or what I want to create right then or anything that pleases me. I break out the tasks into steps and do the tasks that feel good in the moment. I have the pleasure of crossing out finished tasks and getting things done. It's a way for me to focus. If I start feeling driven by the lists or if they feel unpleasant in any way I toss them and listen inside again. The pilot of a plane is rarely on course, he or she is constantly correcting their course, but they are amazingly accurate in reaching their destination. I listen and correct my course to Well-Being during the day. It helps me be aware of negative thoughts and feelings before they build up.

So, getting back to the topic of long-held desires. It's only resistance that is holding back the manifestation. When I was listening to Abraham today I had the realization that I could use these techniques to soften resistance. I know all things are possible, but what I want may seem unattainable to me. Instead of pushing for the full-fledged manifestation I can start where I am and write intentions to transform limiting beliefs on the fringes. I can listen and write lists of actions, breaking them down into the smallest units that begin to feel good.

I set intentions, work to choose better feeling thoughts and make lists anyway, but this is more deliberate and more focused on those desires that seemed complicated and just out of my reach. One desire I have had since I was a child! It feels possible to me now. I can start where I am and I will get there. I know it.

We step in and out of the vortex easily every day

Like all of you, I've had wondrous, loving peak experiences. I'm not talking about being in love with someone, although that may be when it happened. I'm talking about that magical feeling that nothing matters, everything is all right, no worries at all, comfort, peace, joy -- just the warmth of goodness and Well-Being inside and out. Insights, intuitions and ideas come easily. Things click into place. It's more than having a good day and something that you know when you experience it.

I thought peak experiences were the vortex and it was something I could and should be able to reach and sustain by my deliberate creating. Then I was watching a video of Abraham's recent Houston workshop and while the questioner was talking I could actually see when she was in the vortex and when she stepped out. Here's my transcript:
Q: My question is, my husband and I own a rental property on the beach that we share. Rent out. And we bought it under a mortgage that was not a good one with some friends and that did not go well for us. So we’re in the process of doing a loan modification. I really love this property and this space and the sun comes through the windows and how we love it and share it.

Abraham: That’s interesting because what you said just now put you in the vortex. Your other comments weren’t there, but when you focused on it you went right in. [to the audience] Did you see it? Did you see it on her face?

Q: My husband on the other hand…

Abraham: Now you just left. It’s so interesting because when you focus on what his – what you perceive his approach to be which you don’t agree with, you lose your connection with what you want. Isn’t it interesting? And wasn’t that vivid?

Abraham-Hicks, Houston, TX, April 30, 2011.
She was a lovely, happy looking woman, but when she spoke about her husband we could see some of her worry and when she talked about the house she just glowed with love. Everyone watching could see it happen.

My big realization from that was that I'm in the vortex much, MUCH more often than I realized. When I look out the window and lose myself in the sunset for a minute or anytime I lose myself in happiness or joy for even a moment, I am in the vortex. It's not some lofty place. It's very, very reachable. And she showed all of us how easy it is because she was out, went in and was out again in a few sentences!
Let’s talk about what it feels like to be in the vortex. Sometimes it feels like interest. Like, “ooh, I want to think more about that and talk more about that. Sometimes it feels like love. [Sighs] Just kind of turns you inside out [sighs] that feeling. Love. Sometimes it feels like passion.... So, the feeling of the vortex is, it’s a variance of feelings, but it’s always empowering. It’s always confident. It’s always well-being. It’s always a feeling of exhilaration – somewhere between exhilaration and comfort. It always feels good....

Abraham-Hicks, Houston, TX, April 30, 2011.
And how do we get there? Whatever feels good. I mentioned in the previous post that I like to write intentions. Appreciation is a great way to do it.

I'll tell a funny story about myself. I discovered Abraham about seven years ago and just a couple of weeks later I was having one of those days when one thing after another went wrong. Then the toilet jammed and started running over. It was the last straw!! I knew enough about this information to know that appreciation was a way to feel better so as I plunged the toilet I was angry and crying and saying my appreciations. I love nature and this apartment complex had a duck pond so I talked about how much I appreciated the ducks and plunged. I really do love them and can still remember that blossom of love in my heart as I talked about them. The toilet quickly unplugged and I soon realized I felt so much better. Abraham talks about working up the emotional ladder and that it's easier to do appreciations when you're emotions are closer to good feelings, but it worked for me then because I felt so much love for them. Even small experiences can be such powerful lessons.

The "should" I mentioned about peak experiences and how I should be able to sustain them and be in the vortex was resistance -- a little left over perfectionism that rolled off into the sunset. Bye bye!! I do believe that we can reach a place where we can easily be in the vortex or step out to gather data to shoot off our rockets of desire and then work our way in again easily and that's my path.

I'm fascinated by the vortex. So excited to be in it more and more. So interested in being in the vortex and deliberately creating there. You'll be hearing lots more about it here.

The journey continues....

And so my journey continues.... by enggul

Hello! I'm back after an extended break from blogging. And what have I been doing? Well, I have always been intrigued by this Abraham quote:

You don't live in one world. You share a dimension and are individually creating in as many separate worlds as there are beings.

Abraham-Hicks, A New Beginning II, Jerry & Esther Hicks, P. 236

I wanted to sort out what it meant to create my personal reality and what it meant to create in the world that appeared to be outside of me. I examined it from all angles and worked with it during the last year and have a comfortable perspective. Now I'm learning more about my vortex and the value of contrast. I have to smile because I'm telling you that it's getting more fun all the time and yet I'm sure I've said that many times before.

For those of you visiting for the first time, I want to give you a little background. Like you, I had manifestations of my desires all my life. From the beginning of working with Abraham's information about creating deliberately, I had manifestations and the way they appeared was obviously because I sent off that rocket of desire Abraham talks about. But I didn't really connect the dots and really get the feeling of connection between the work I was doing and manifestation until I began working with intentions. I would write intentions in the morning and then notice that I seemed to walk into the manifestations during the day. I still write intentions and just love them. The posts below will give you an idea of what worked for me.
