Winter Solstice

Blessings to you on the Winter Solstice. This is a turning point for Mother Earth when the day is at it's shortest and the night the longest. Here in the northern hemisphere the earth lies snug under it's blanket of cold. Tomorrow the light is on its journey of return and each day will be longer as we travel to spring -- but for now, we are snug and warm as the cold winds blow.

The YouTube video below, Winter Solstice, is a lovely gift from Joanna Colbert Powell and her husband Craig Olson presented in the journal on her web site, Gaian Tarot.

In the Deep Midwinter” performed by Craig Olson
Music by Gustav Holst (1906)
Lyrics by Christina Rossetti (1872), revised by Craig Olson (2006)
