My own turning point

Leaping dolphins by Zest-pk.

My last post was on the Winter Solstice - a turning point in the season. Today I've experienced my own turning point - turning downstream to wellness.

Abraham advises us to focus on feeling good. What I have been working with lately is guidance on feeling good when "what is" is a physical feeling that I feel with every step or when I sit.

What I was wondering today was what to do when I feel it? I could tell I was focusing on and practicing the physical feeling when there was pain. Since it happened when I walked or moved there's no surprise that it was increasing.

When I am comfortable and feel good I can visualize myself moving easily. My question was what to do to feel good in the moment that I had the sensation.

This morning I was thinking: we send out our preferences and desires all the time so when I experience the physical sensation I must be sending out a positive desire. I didn't feel good emotionally though and when I listened to my thoughts I couldn't even pick out the positive desires. There was a jumble of thoughts and feelings about the sensation and my new desire to understand right then.

My Inner Being answered that in the very moment of sensation, I can choose a good feeling thought and send it out. I've been practicing this morning and when I do it, I can sense a beam of warm golden light shining through the middle of the physical sensation.

I was working here at my computer a few minutes ago and I had another thought that is very delicious: In the midst of the physical sensation I can enjoy sending out my desire for well-being!

I'm practicing this new awareness and I can definitely say I feel better emotionally. Whatever thought we choose the Law of Attraction begins collecting more thoughts around it. As we turn to our Inner Being, it becomes easier to hear those loving thoughts. With the choice to send out a positive desire I feel uplifted. I feel hope. I have had so many experiences of this Loving Universe answering me and I know it does now. I love being in control of my thoughts and my experience. I feel excited!

So excitement serves as a "compass" - to let you know when you're "on course" - when you are doing or contemplating doing exactly what your Higher Self would just love to have you be doing.

Bashar - Follow your excitement! Finding your Purpose in Life

As you begin telling the story differently, it is our promise to you that the Universe will back your story up with evidence.

Abraham-Hicks, Los Angeles, CA, February 3, 2008

Your Inner Being is always right there with you and your Inner Being is rooting for you and encouraging you.

And sometimes we think it’s strange that you do not hear more often, these encouraging words.

And if you have discouraging words playing in your mind, more than you do encouraging words, these are words that you've picked up along your physical trail that you've begun to practice. And you've made them your more dominant words.

But we really want you to start listening for those encouraging words because your Inner Being is always offering them....

Your Inner Being loves you so very much and wants you to feel that love for yourself, you see.

Winter Solstice

Blessings to you on the Winter Solstice. This is a turning point for Mother Earth when the day is at it's shortest and the night the longest. Here in the northern hemisphere the earth lies snug under it's blanket of cold. Tomorrow the light is on its journey of return and each day will be longer as we travel to spring -- but for now, we are snug and warm as the cold winds blow.

The YouTube video below, Winter Solstice, is a lovely gift from Joanna Colbert Powell and her husband Craig Olson presented in the journal on her web site, Gaian Tarot.

Abraham-Hicks and long-held desires

I read some Abraham this morning before I got up and then was laying all warm and cozy in bed thinking. I was musing lazily about what made me happy and realized I feel happy when I feel like I can have what I want. I feel unhappy when I think I can't have what I want.

Is it really that simple for me? I think it is.

When I read Abraham this morning this stood out:

...Many people on their way to wellness get half-way there, and get discouraged because there is not manifestation, and turn around and head back toward illness. Many people on their way from financial disaster get nearly to where they want to be, where the manifestation is nearly about to show up, but because they take score about the manifestation, they get discouraged and turn around and go back to not enough money.

...you have been launching preferences...and Law of Attraction is lining up around them. And your future experience is being made for you before you approach it -- that's why 99% of creation is complete before you begin to see the physical evidence of it.

So, most of what you're doing is the Emotional Journey....

Abraham-Hicks, July-Aug-Sept 2005 Quarterly Journal, "An Emotional Journey from Fear to Hope."

There are beliefs and their manifestations that I've had since childhood that I want to change. This is the answer for me for those times when it seems that I've been asking for a long time -- that part where Abraham says we get almost there and then turn around. I turned around when I looked at what-is and thought I couldn't have what I wanted.

I wonder if that part of the journey just before manifestation is a birth like our physical birth? If we have a long-held desire or one that is really important to us perhaps we sense that our life will change in a big way and there is unconscious resistance that causes us to choose to turn around and go back so that we can practice aligning some more.

This morning was a reminder for me that the end of the journey -- the part just before manifestation -- is still just part of the path. I don't have to turn back. I can make an oasis. I can be creative. I can contemplate. I can enjoy the feeling that what I desire is close and coming to me. I can choose to believe that I can have what I want.

Source Energy is intimately, infinitely, always responding to your requests, no matter how great or small they may be deemed by you or anyone else who is observing them. There is nothing so big that Source Energy can't get its thoughts around it-- and there is nothing so small that Source Energy isn't willing to get its thoughts around it.

Abraham-Hicks, Los Angeles, CA, August 4th, 2001

Above all I can ask this loving Universe for whatever I need at that time to align --comfort, guidance, signs, good feeling thoughts. I can enjoy every part of the journey.

Reid Stowe's voyage of allowing well-being

I love the sea, but only have one experience with sailing, just one short journey across the Ruddy Inlet in Virginia Beach in the 1980's. I thought it would be fun to learn to sail and rented a little one-man boat. They showed me how to turn the rudder and hold the rope for the sail and sent me out across a small inlet crowded with boaters. I quickly decided this was the wrong time to give it a try and cut a wide swath through yelling sailors on motor boats and sailboats as I headed back to the safety of the pier.

I was immediately hooked when I found 1000 Days at Sea, Reid Stowe's 1000 day journey non-stop on his schooner Anne. He began the journey with his first mate Soanya Ahmad who disembarked before the halfway mark for the birth of their son. They both posted about the spiritual journey at sea as well as the physical one, and as Reid sailed on alone, his spiritual journey has taken on new depth.

There are many things about their voyage that capture my imagination, but I think most of all I am drawn to the simplicity of their lifestyle. Reid is incredibly busy with repairs and maintenance, but this voyage is very much a spiritual practice for him and he goes deeper and deeper into mindfulness as he sails.

As Reid attempts to explain his inner experience it is clear that more and more he lets go of restrictions and resistance. Sometimes it's difficult for me to relate to him, often I am moved and inspired. Using the concepts of Abraham-Hicks, what I thought of when I read his latest post is that he is in a very powerful place of being and allowing. Thank you for taking this journey, Reid, and for sharing it with me.

Here's Reid and then Abraham:

Day 596 - December 8, 2008

Annihilating East and West

As I live here on the sea I let my mind go free. I try not to live in my intellectual rational mind so I can experience awe and wonder without judgment. In this way I see the ocean again and again as if it were the first time; a million sparkles in patterns of waves weaving liquid fabric through eternity. Even on my spiritual quests I have always had the tendency to look at the compass and orient myself with the cardinal directions, my planetary guides and the far away land masses. Now I have had the opportunity to abolish all direction and annihilate the rule of east and west. I cover my compass and reside in my heart. When I climb out of my hatch I let the sun and the sea be as they will be. I resist minimizing them by calculating and I expand gratefully accepting out in all directions. There are some clouds. The sun is up there somewhere often shining warmly through. The waves come from every direction and merge together and this tells me nothing of what direction I am looking and drifting. Like this I go about my daily work, which becomes my art, my meditation, my love of life, my love of God. The search for the meaning of life just becomes living. This is my art, how I add love to the world and how I learn and grow. My desire to be disoriented helps me be flexible and learn new things. In the revealed chaos I quietly dwell centered and I stop trying to control what is around me. Then I enter the awesome realm of the divine. I know I am far enough out to sea for the wind, waves and universe to take me where they will.just for awhile. Then I will look to see where I am and set a course again and resume my migration around the world.

Reid Stowe

The only thing that makes the difference in the way you feel right now is the thought that you are thinking right now. It doesn't matter how much money you've got; there are joyful people with no money, and there are unhappy people with lots of money. How you feel is about how you are allowing the Source that is You to flow. So when we talk about the Art of Allowing, we're talking about the art of living; about the art of thriving; about the art of clarity. We're talking about the art of being who you really are.

Abraham-Hicks: You have the choice to feel better in this moment

As deliberate creators we know that our emotional guidance system gives us feedback about our thoughts in the form of emotions. Negative emotions tell us we are looking at lack and positive emotions tell us we are aligned with our Inner Being. There is one easy thing we can remember that will always keep us facing in the direction of alignment:

Of course, there is a broad range of emotions--from those that feel very bad to those that feel very good--but in any moment in time, because of whatever you are focused upon, you actually only have two choices in emotion: a better-feeling one or a worse-feeling one.

Abraham-Hicks, Money and the Law of Attraction, p. 108.

It doesn't matter what happened before. It doesn't matter what thought we had that didn't feel good. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of us. It doesn't matter if we don't like what we created. It doesn't matter if we don't know how to do it differently. It doesn't matter if others are pointing fingers or even if they are ignoring us. Nothing matters but our feeling good in this beautiful moment in the eternal Now.

If we take this moment in time and choose a better feeling thought then that is the path we walk. In each moment we have that choice. And so what if something triggered a thought that doesn't feel good. Even if it's an old pattern and we run with the rut we have established for awhile. All we have to do is choose a better feeling thought and we are on a new path.

And each time we make that choice the old path fades a little more and the new one becomes our reality. Because we choose it. Because we are facing the Light. Because it feels good. Because we allow ourselves that delicious feeling of our true selves: our Inner Being.

So, creation really is more about loving yourself; it’s more about feeling your worthiness; it’s more about appreciating a friend; it’s more about enjoying the sunset; it’s more about enjoying the beautiful flowers. It’s more about finding reasons to relax into Well-Being, rather than gather up your strength and valiantly go forth to achieve your tasks, and serve your cause… because your “cause” is, to be the receiver and radiator of the love and Well-Being that is You.

You are an extension of Source Energy. You are one who loves, and you are one who loves to think, and you are one who loves to create, and you are one who loves to contemplate. You’re one who enjoys stimulation of thought. You’re one who enjoys choosing; you enjoy considering; you enjoy pondering; you enjoy fashioning. You enjoy putting things together. You enjoy figuring things out. You enjoy knowing. You enjoy not being sure and then becoming more sure. You enjoy the evolution of a thought. You enjoy the expansion of an idea. You enjoy the expansion of life experience. You enjoy the pleasure of being this genius focused in the most creative environment that has ever existed, for the fulfillment of things that satisfy you.

You are liquid love in physical bodies, wanting, more than life itself, because it is life itself, to adore the vessel that’s you through which this Source Energy flows. You are God. You are Source. You are creator.

You always feel good from your Source Energy perspective.

Abraham-Hicks -- look for the positive aspect

I'm reading Abraham's new book, Money and the Law of Attraction, with much appreciation. I love the timing of the book and even the way I was able to buy it. It was on sale on Amazon.com and I had some money left over on a gift certificate which paid for the book and shipping.

In my experience, it is valuable to read Abraham or listen to workshop CD's because I attune to Abe's lovely vibration. Even if I have a book and haven't read it, the vibration is in my experience and ready for me when the time is right. I had this book for awhile and one night I was getting ready for bed and had the thought that it was time for me to read it. The timing is perfect because of circumstances which are causing me to ask for new ways to think about them. I savor Abe's words and read a little bit almost every night before I go to bed. I say, "Ok, Abe. I'm ready for the next step in remembering deliberate creating." And then I read and find a great new technique or way of thinking that uplifts my spirits.

For example, Abraham advises us to look for the positive aspect in anything we are paying attention to -- especially if it is something we are not wanting and it's right in front of our face. If we focus on the positive aspect, conditions will improve.

I really enjoy turning my thinking around and Abraham offers many ways to find the gold gleaming in unwanted conditions. Here's one way that I use to see the positive in the midst of negative emotions:

When you feel negative emotions about anything, it always means that you have a desire that has been born from your personal life experience, that you are, right now, opposing with other thoughts. ~Abraham-Hicks, Money and the Law of Attraction, p. 73.

Here are the steps I go through in my thinking:

1. The gold for me is to remember that I'm having that negative feeling because I have a strong desire.

2. I remind myself that my desires are met instantly. They are real. They are answered.

3. I remind myself that the negative feelings are coming from a thought and it is only a thought. I chose it. I can change it.

4. Then I think about what it is I want at this point and ask for it. Usually the negative feeling comes from an old way of thinking that I can't have what I want. I know now that I can have it. Each time I make the new choice I change my point of attraction!

5. I usually feel relief from those steps because I've worked with these concepts enough that I know they are true. If I still feel negative feelings I use other tools to bring relief depending on what I feel would work best. Here are a few of them:

~keep repeating steps 1 to 4 -- each time I am changing the pattern.
~distract myself with books or DVDs
~use the Emotional Freedom Technique
~call Unity prayer line - very Abishlike, positive prayer. 1-800-669-7729.
~go outside to be with nature
~talk to Abe or my Inner Being and then listen. They always answer very quickly.
~use my version of the placemat process, giving my feelings, desires, and intentions to the Manager, Abraham, or my Inner Being
~ask my Inner Being how it would view the situation or ask what to do to feel better. The answer comes from within.
~write or think about things I appreciate

These tools and processes work to change my thinking. I feel better and that's the important thing. The other part is that it allows me to accept the good that's jumping up and down in it's desire to come into my life. Welcome to all that goodness!

99 percent of every creation is complete before there is any physical evidence.

Abraham-Hicks

It doesn't matter what thing you've done, it only matters what thing you do -- because you can't resist in the past tense, you can only resist in the powerful Now. You might have started a pattern before and you might be continuing a pattern, but it's the doing now not the 'have done' that matters.

Abraham-Hicks, Cincinnati, OH, 7/7/01

(snip)

Q: And there are other times when I focus on something, raise my vibration, see it happening -- imaging -- and it doesn't come to me. And is that because I'm coming from not having it?

Abe: Well, when you see it and it comes instantly, it means what you see and how you feel and how you vibrate [are] already there. But when you are working to raise your vibration and it's still not coming, it means there's still something stuck in your craw. And what it always is, is a keener awareness of what is than of what's coming. And that's why -- we really want you all to hear this, it will soothe so much and bring so many things that you've been wanting for so long so quickly into your experience -- if you can find a way of tweaking your perception into loving where you are anyway. And people worry about that -- many of you are afraid that if you feel appreciation for your life as it is with missing pieces that then the Universe will say, "Well, she's happy, let's deal with someone more needy," and it isn't that way at all. You get yourself into vibrational sync and then all good things come to you.

Abraham-Hicks: Making choices

We are beings who make choices when we send off the rocket of our desire. We choose what we pay attention to moment by moment. We choose our thoughts, and therefore, our feelings. I was attracted to these quotes of Abraham explaining how this works:

Sometimes the perfect path to inspire you to something you want feels like the wrong path. Because all it did was stir you up and make you mad.

"What went wrong?" you say to us. "Abraham, this can't be right! I felt inspired to go and he turned out to be a real jerk."

And we say, "Yes. But the jerky person that he was inspired you to more clarity. The bad experience inspired you to more clarity."

The inspiration can only be deciphered by you in as pure a form as you are pure. And if you've got resistance going on within you, you can often feel a feeling of inspiration, but you can only decipher it through the clouded lens that you've got going on. Then it will manifest in proportion to the contradiction of vibration in energy you've got going on.

Ooooooooo, did that just clear up a whole lot for a lot of people?

And in any of that, is anything wrong with any of that? Isn't it wonderful!

That's why we say, you can't get it wrong and you never get it done. And the reason you can't get it wrong is that you never get it done. No matter where you stand, you are still giving birth to more poignant, more precise Vibrational Escrow. But you see the problem that most physical humans have is NOT that they have not created a wonderful Vibrational Escrow. You HAVE, we have seen it!!!

Your problem, if you deem that you have one, is that you've practiced vibrations that aren't up to speed with it. So you keep getting cluttered inspirations, so to speak, because you've got a bunch of stuff going on in your vibration.

The better you feel, the more in tune you are with who you REALLY are. It's just as simple as that.

But that's almost too Pollyanna for most of you to hear.

[You say] "We don't want to talk about hope, we want to talk about problems!"

Abraham-Hicks, San Francisco 2/16/08
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can feel good about the flower you are looking at, or the ocean that you are looking across, or about the smile upon the face of the child…you can be focused upon something like that and be feeling utter Well-being. And in that moment of that basking, you are attracting the dollars that you want, you are attracting the abundance that you want, you are attracting the mate that you want you are attracting whatever it is that you want. It is about vibrating and allowing, you see?
Abraham-Hicks, G 2/1/92 Abraham Calendar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And here is Abraham talking about their state of being:

...We are free, joyous and growing beings -- putting emphasis upon our state of freedom -- for it is through our freedom to be, that we are able to choose joy and growth. We are not different from you, or any other being in the Universe, regarding freedom, for we are all absolutely free, but most do not understand their freedom, and therefore do not live it. Freedom is not something that is earned, or assigned, but something that is acknowledged.

....IT IS OUR KNOWING, THAT THERE IS NOT AN ENDING TO GROWTH, FOR WE ALL EXIST IN AN ETERNAL NOW. The joy or the pain, the growth or the stagnation, the freedom or the confinement, that each of us feel in this moment, is purely our individual decision, and we take great delight in that knowledge. And in that knowledge, as ABRAHAM, we continually choose freedom, growth, and joy.

Working through stalled energy with Abraham-Hicks

...For you to understand that your thoughts, the combination of your thoughts -- is what equals what you get, sometimes it empowers you and sometimes it frightens you, because sometimes you're surer than others about what you want. And in your uncertainty, what is happening?

...Let us remind you: There is a decision for you to make. And you haven't made it yet. You are still exploring options. You might even have narrowed it down to one or two things. Do you feel how enervated you feel? How tired, even depressed? How you wake up in the morning, and you really don't want to get out of bed? The reason for that is because your Energy is diffused. You don't know what you want, and so this powerful, or potentially powerful, Energy is coming into you -- but you are sending it off in so many directions, you feel tired. And do you remember how, whenever you made a decision about something, how good you felt?

Once you make a decision, no matter how minor the decision is, you are suddenly empowered again -- because suddenly you are saying "yes" to something. You're not saying "yes, no, yes, no, maybe." You're saying, "Yes," and so the Energy flows. That is "Divine Intervention." When you get all of your thoughts going in one direction, then we say "Let it go!" And "everyone" gets behind and offers to you, and that is why you feel this great power of momentum, you see. All of the "fairies of the Universe" get behind you when you're decided. And otherwise, it is sort of, nobody paying much attention to you.

Abraham-Hicks, A New Beginning II, p. 216-217.

I have been using segment intending for some time now and got the energy stream moving pretty fast. I came to a place where I felt like a very big change in energy level was right here and now for me. I didn't know what to do with it and felt afraid. I didn't know what would be big enough to have that type of energy in my life and didn't allow it to happen. So, now I feel like I'm meandering in a little backwater, a small pond off of the main flow. I want to explore and have more fun, but still don't know where or when or what that would look like.

Luckily, I also know that this backwater is just a platform for me to shoot off a new desire. And I also know that I can work with my thinking and allow a higher level of energy in a way that pleases me. I can meander there. I can saunter there. I can leap off the leading edge and fly to where I want to go. Whatever works. There's no desire that's kept from me.

I went from that flowing, high energy feeling to one of being on hold and waiting. My intention is to feel good so I sent that out and LOA brought me the quote above in response -- one of those "open the book and it's there" experiences. It describes exactly what happened to me and what I've been feeling.

I can tell the stall I'm in has to do with my thinking. I feel conflict about every little choice of the many things to do during the day. And before there was such flow with everything falling into place. The quote above clued me in to a way to work with this feeling -- just rummage through all the conflicts, make a decision about doing something, set intentions, and go do it. I get a feeling of movement, but my intention is to be comfortable with the soaring energy I was feeling before.

I suspect that what is at the core of this backwater of energy is actually a decision to make about my state of being -- not about something to do or not do. When I had the thought "what would be big enough for this energy" my mind ran quickly through things to do -- Gandhi, Mother Teresa, save the whales -- what was important enough?

But as I've floated a bit restlessly in this backwater and thought about it -- as I write this now -- I think what is big enough for that energy is just feeling worthy of it. Feeling enough just as I am.

Abraham says appreciation is the closest to Source Energy that we feel. Glorying in a beautiful sunset. Expressing talents and abilities. Trusting that my desires are worthy and allowing myself to have them. Being creative. Enjoying life. Those qualities of being and doing seem big enough for that energy.

I am called, not only to be the apple blossom and new leaves of spring, but to be the harvest, the dormant roots of winter, and the fallow land whose only purpose is being what it is. To glory in the backwaters as well as times of flying. To just allow life to be this bright moment, full of promise, full of bugs and birds, and all manner of good things.

I used to call this type of insight the Velveteen Rabbit experience -- an experience of becoming real. These insights involve the death of an old way of thinking. I didn't realize it then, but that instinctive fear of death was the fear of the Energy that I mentioned earlier. In writing this post I've received clarity and understanding. It's a relief to let go of the old way of thinking. I feel a little "realer" right now. I don't need to be Gandhi or do something the world thinks is valuable to be filled with this wondrous Energy. I can if I want to, but I don't have to. This is just another of those delicious turning points. I feel more willing to allow myself to be aware of distant dreams that got lost in making my way in the physical world -- those fallow fields that now offer such promise of who I really am.

Do you understand how adored you are?

Do you understand how the creation of this planet, the creation of this universe, do you understand how it all fits together for the perfection of your experience? Do you understand how beloved you are, how blessed you are, how adored you are, what an integral part of this creative process you are?

....You think, Oh, I could get sick, I could get run over by a truck, I could die. And we say, yes, many wonderful things like that could happen to you. [Laughter from audience.) Once you give up your fear of death and you accept your immortality, and you understand that you will never cease to be and that there will always be a powerful Now and the consciousness that is you will never end. And that it cannot turn out anything but wonderful. Then maybe you will relax and say, "There is nothing very important going on here. There is only an entire universe that has been established to point me toward a moment in time where I might experience some joy."

Not just one path: Abraham-Hicks, Lester Levenson, and Leslie Temple-Thurston

So, the truth is, there's not one path. The truth is, there's not only one right path. The truth is, all paths can be made to be the right path. The truth is, that every individual has a different path. And that different path that every individual is launching incrementally and amending constantly--that true path is known by Source and is guided by Source if you will pay attention to the way you feel.

Abraham-Hicks, 10/13/04

Abraham's information about choosing our reality by deliberately choosing our thoughts appeals to me. It is exactly what I was looking for and it works well for me. As Abraham says above, there are as many paths as there are individuals, and I wanted to mention two others that come readily to my mind.

Lester Levenson and Leslie Temple-Thurston both used processes of thinking themselves to a place of connection to spirit that I desire.

Leslie Temple-Thurston

Leslie had been a mystic since childhood and had a profound altered state experience in 1971. She had the insight that seemingly polarized points of view -- intuition vs. empirical evidence of the world -- are actually one and the same thing, unified.

During 1986-1988 Leslie entered a time of extensive reflection and inward turning discovering techniques for consciously finding unity in a world which seems to be about polarity.

I read Leslie's book, The Marriage of Spirit, several years ago and especially liked the use of squares where each corner of the square is an aspect of polarity that is out of balance. Leslie has an excerpt of the chapter on squares here and uses the example of fear and control where the four corners are 1) fear of being in control 2) fear of being out of control 3) desire to be in control 4) desire to be out of control. We are usually in one corner more than another, but often bounce to another corner or two. Her technique teaches a way of coming to a place of unity, getting us out of the box altogether.

She has a gentle, loving spirit that makes her book interesting and easy to read. She shares details about her life and how she came to understand the way to unity for her. The Marriage of Spirit offers a wealth of practical details illustrating different techniques for coming to a blessed place of loving self and coming to peace with the experience of being in this world. Workshops and support for these techniques are offered through CoreLight, the organization Leslie founded.

Lester Levenson

I read Lester's autobiography, No Attachments, No Aversions, after I had been studying Abraham. Lester was successful, but in 1952 when he was 42, he faced severe health problems from a heart attack and stress. A doctor told him his life would never be normal again and he might have a year or two to live. Lester went home and stayed in bed for several days even considering suicide. Instead he chose to look at his life and what was important to him.

He questioned everything in his life, sought answers in books, looked at his thinking and came to the understanding that he felt happiness when he was loving someone else. He reviewed his entire life and came to a place of peace and health that lasted until he left this earth experience in 1994 at the age of 84.

Lester shared his discovery by creating The Sedona Method. I did not feel drawn to The Sedona Method, but I loved reading his story. He describes himself as an ordinary man and I was inspired by how he brought himself into a connection with spirit that lasted the rest of his life.

Leslie and Lester made their discoveries during profound periods of deliberate focus on their thinking. We can create anything we want, including the time to be that deliberate. But it can also be done right now. This minute.

We know that few of you can just quit your jobs today and start dreaming your way into success because there is this buffer of time, and the creditors would be banging on your door very quickly. So we are not saying stop all action, and start dreaming. We are saying dream a little more and act a little less. We are saying that 10 or 15 minutes of focusing and visualizing until you find the feeling place of success is the equivalent of many thousands of action hours. When you hold a thought purely--which means that you just don't contradict it--for 17 seconds, another thought that is like it joins it, and there is a lot of power in that joining....

Segment intending is a great way to ramp up energy and get things done

As I practice segment intending I feel like a newbie pilot who's taking their first solo flight. This is the first time I've had my hands on the controls of my thinking so much during the day. I'm having new experiences and it's definitely interesting.

One of my observations is that segment intending is a powerful way to increase energy and get things done. I wrote a post on August 10th with appreciation for how good this technique felt. The next day I was saying to myself, boy, I feel good. I would notice how efficient it was to go with the energy, appreciating how much I was getting done, and the more I noticed, the better I felt and the more I got done! I felt like a happy blur getting one thing done after another. I didn't sleep a lot and the next day and night were the same.

The guided energy was different for me. I would think about the things to do and then decide which ones I wanted to accomplish. I would say my intentions for feelings for the next segment. And then I felt pulled along by a surge of enthusiasm to accomplish those tasks one after another. I'm talking about "should do" tasks -- the ones I was dragging my feet on or did when I had to -- as well as those that I wanted to do. I found myself eager and wanting to do all of them and everything just clicked into place.

As I've worked with Abraham's concepts I've definitely learned that I create my inner world. I've learned that I'm the one that makes me feel bad or good. I'm the one that controls whether I have that delicious feeling of connection to my Inner Being.

I'm always learning, but these concepts of deliberate reality creation are working well. My inner life has been turned around. The new playground for me is focusing more on playing in the physical world and what I'm learning now is that setting the feelings is the most important thing I can do. If I feel off-balance, I take a moment and align inside to my Inner Being. It happens just by asking, just by intending to do it, and by taking the time to quiet my mind and allow that sweet feeling of relief in connection.

...what Deliberate Creating really is. It's caring how I feel so much that I am willing to choose the better feeling thought.

Abraham-Hicks

Rather than "What should I do?" we want you to follow the thought of your Source, and the thought of that Source within you is looking for things to appreciate. And we know that guidance always sounds like "should I go this way, or should I go this way?" when you understand that the guidance is about the direction of your thought, and you deliberately choose the better feeling thought, what begins to happen is that you get going with The Flow so well that questions about what to do answer themselves easily because it is so obvious what to do....the confusion goes away when the resistance goes away....when you say, "never mind what I'm going to do, how am I going to think about this? And you chose a better feeling thought about the subject, what happens is that The Stream is flowing so smoothly that all of the chaos and confusion from your life lifts from you and you have clarity about what to do.

Abraham-Hicks, Tarrytown, NY 9/30/06

You are extensions of [pure, positive] creative energy, and when you are not deliberately doing it [i.e., flowing the energy toward what you want], life is flat. Friends, this is not piddly little energy! This energy keeps your earth spinning in its orbit, in perfect proximity to other planets. We THINK it can help you be happy in your house!

Abraham-Hicks

Source Energy is intimately, infinitely, always responding to your requests, no matter how great or small they may be deemed by you or anyone else who is observing them. There is nothing so big that Source Energy can't get its thoughts around it-- and there is nothing so small that Source Energy isn't willing to get its thoughts around it.

Abraham-Hicks and the power of being who you really are

The only thing that makes the difference in the way you feel right now is the thought that you are thinking right now. It doesn't matter how much money you've got; there are joyful people with no money, and there are unhappy people with lots of money. How you feel is about how you are allowing the Source that is You to flow. So when we talk about the Art of Allowing, we're talking about the art of living; about the art of thriving; about the art of clarity. We're talking about the art of being who you really are.

Abraham-Hicks, 7/20/02

A couple of days ago I was mulling over the thought that the most powerful thing we can do as deliberate creators is to be who we really are. Who am I? Who are you? We are loving beings of energy having this physical experience for the joy of it.

Right now I'm working on how to take joyful action. I'm letting go of things I felt I "should" do and looking at how to make choices that feel good each day with everything I do. I'm trusting feelings of excitement and interest to guide me to what is perfect and just right for me in the moment.

I've been practicing segment intending and other techniques and they work well. I look within myself, listen, think about what I would like to do, feel for the one that feels best, send out my intentions, and take the action that goes with it. It just takes a minute and I find myself creating a rhythm. Everything is easier including tasks I put off before.

So how does this work day-to-day? There's work, money, health, washing the dishes, relationships -- the whole range of choices big and small for a day. To use a small example of following energy, my sister has been wanting to create a genealogy of one side of the family, but doesn't know how to use a computer. In the last couple of days I offered to help and did some research, but kept telling her I had so many other projects I couldn't work on it for long. The thing is that I'm finding some really interesting information after just a few hours of work -- an 1863 Civil War journal of a great-great-grandfather that was online -- mysteries about marriages.

My thoughts about doing the genealogy remind me of Abraham's example of asking for and resisting the red car in the same sentence: I want the red car, but I don't have enough money for it. I kept saying I didn't have enough time to work on this, but I felt a lot of enthusiastic energy when I explored online. This morning I decided to place my bets on the good feeling energy and I'm going to take a genealogy course at the library next week.

I'm using this small example of many choices that happen every day. All Abraham says is that we make choices in the moment that feel good. I don't know at this moment how genealogy fits in with the manifestation of desires I've sent out -- all I know is that right now I really enjoy it. Maybe it's just something to distract me while the big ones I desire come to me. I'm trusting that the money is here. The health is here. That all the things I want to be, do, and have are here. I've asked Source Energy to let me know clearly when I need to take action regarding work, health, doing the dishes, etc. So my work is to just feel good in the eternal Now of this moment. I like that job description! And as a bonus I'm finding that everything is falling into place more and more easily.

I understand now that the Universe answers me. By being who I truly am I make this process easy. I don't have to work through any discordant thoughts about what I was told about who I am and what I deserve. I don't have to fit in to anyone else's idea of what I need to do to be prosperous or healthy. All I have to do is be present in this moment and send out my desires -- they are answered.

.. the Universe got it piece by piece by piece and you can't comprehend all of the preferences that you have honed all at once. None of you can do that. None of you could stand right here and know yourselves and express yourselves to us as clearly as we know you.

In other words, not one of you could put it into words. Source Energy KNOWS who you are. And is offering response to it at all times. You just have to find a way to let it in.

And working too hard doesn't do it. And fretting over it doesn't do it. And jumping through hoops doesn't do it. And feeling unworthy and trying to achieve worthiness doesn't do it.

What does it is anything and everything that makes you feel good when you do it.

10 unexpected benefits of Abraham-Hicks' segment intending

We encourage you to be aware of the natural segments of your day. There are not two of you who experience the same segments, for each of your life experiences are different, but we will give you some examples here:

When you wake up in the morning, the time that you remain in bed after you awake is a segment.... When you get into your automobile, the time that you are in your automobile, moving from one place to another is a segment....

If you will recognize that you have begun a new segment, and at the beginning of each segment, if you will take a moment to clarify what your dominant intentions are -- what you most want to receive or give during that segment -- then you will be in deliberate control of your life experience.
Abraham-Hicks, A New Beginning I, p. 24.

Although we may have dominant intentions which guide us, we often respond to a situation when it happens and create by default. Feel nervous about a meeting? Blind date? Family dinners? This is a great technique to create joyfully for specific situations.

But Abraham is talking about more than those high energy times that catch our attention. They are talking about being deliberate all through our day. When I first read it I was just learning to turn my thinking around and wasn't ready for it.

Now I'm comfortable with the idea that I create my own reality. I've been practicing deliberate creating and have had wonderful experiences.

I had the desire to be even more hands on and one answer I was given was segment intending. This technique satisfies many desires I have for more deliberate creating and better feeling thoughts. The time is right.

I've been practicing it about a month and have found 10 interesting and unexpected benefits:

1. I notice negative emotions when they are mild. It seems very natural to pay attention as I start a new activity and segment intending gives me a focus to use the deliberate creating skills I've learned. As I listen to my emotions, I'm becoming aware of background grumpy thoughts and feelings. Because I'm checking on them early, it's easier to change the negative thoughts before they attract more of the same -- before they build into something big enough to attract my attention.

2. My emotions are smoother. Changing my thinking in these slight tweaks many times smoothes the ride during the day. I have fewer trips on the emotional roller coaster.

3. It's great for dissolving habits of negative thinking. I'm currently working to change some patterns of thinking that I've had as long as I can remember. These are long practiced negative thoughts of what I was told or concluded from experiences -- thought patterns and habits from earliest childhood. Because I'm working in small segments, I become aware of how these thoughts which seemed so big and old are triggered now. I change my thinking around this small activity and these changes ripple through my thinking in bigger ways.

4. It keeps me in the eternal Now. Thoughts of the past and the future influence us each day. It doesn't matter if what happened to me or what I was told happened years ago or this morning. It doesn't matter if I trigger thoughts producing fear, worry, anxiety, and frustration about the future. The thoughts I'm thinking are right now. For example, paying a bill may trigger fears about paying bills in the future. I can intend to feel comfortable writing the check, intend appreciation for the money now, intend feeling confident, successful, or whatever feels good before I write the checks. Now is the point of power.

5. I feel more confident. We all have many, many segments during our day. I find that I feel more confident because I am exercising this deliberate creating muscle so often. I experience it working as I intend for the segment. Maybe I get an idea of doing something different that works better. Maybe I just get a better feeling. I definitely get an answer. I ask and it comes quickly -- and often.

6. I can feel the power of feeling good. Abraham says the only reason we want anything is because we think we will feel good in having it -- so why not feel good first. As I experience having more and more control over feeling good I can feel the power of it. I feel more satisfied and content.

7. I'm more aware of what I want. When I intend for a segment I also think about what I want. Again, because I'm doing it in easy, small segments of time I become more aware what is beneath my desires. And in every case what is beneath has turned out to be a feeling that I want. I've had enough experiences that I trust the Universe to bring the opportunities and things I have asked for in the best time. The feelings are what I really want and I can have them right then and there.

8. Statements of intent feel more direct and powerful than wanting. I experience my part in the co-creative process when I say "I intend...." I intend health. I intend success. I'm taking responsibility for what I want to create. The Universe answers, but I feel myself calling on the Universe to answer when I say "I intend...." It's more hands on and feels kind of thrilling and definitely fun.

9. It's excellent for training ourselves to think as deliberate creators. I created by default before I learned about Abraham. Learning to be a deliberate creator has just been a matter of changing how I think. With this technique it's becoming easier and easier because I practice a lot every day. It's pleasant, quick, and easy to do. As a matter of fact, it's worked so well that I find myself wanting to do it more and more.

10. Segment intending is very helpful when a strong negative feeling is activated quickly. Whether it's a family member that knows what button to push or something on the news, sometimes we have intense feelings that happen immediately. This technique gives me access to better feeling thoughts right then. I can start making decisions segment by segment and work my way out of it quickly.

I like the feeling of controlling my thinking, but I don't want to give the wrong impression. I'm not trying to control the river, I just want to enjoy the journey.

Abraham-Hicks: Feeling good

I used to have roller coaster emotions before I discovered Abraham's information. Negative thoughts that had been practiced for years could be activated quickly. As I began to choose deliberate thinking I didn't always know what I wanted, often I just knew what I didn't want.

Abraham said that everything we want was because we think we would feel good having it. "I want to feel good" became an early tool in my deliberate creating tool box. I could be very upset, but saying it stopped my negative thinking long enough that I could begin to work with my thoughts.

Now that I've been reading and practicing Abraham's information for about five years, I still say, "I want to feel good," especially when I detect even the slightest negative feeling -- it aligns me immediately with my higher intention. It's also become an affirmation that I say for the pleasure of that feeling of connection with my Inner Being -- just taking a moment to check in with an old friend during the day. As Abraham says, we are joy in expression so feeling good is natural to us.

You intended to come forth into physical experience to live, to love, to laugh, to play -- to look for reasons to feel good!

Abraham-Hicks, 6/7/91

Your Inner Being likes to skip and laugh and think about things; your Inner Being likes to offer compliments and feel appreciation and contemplate something that is not fully understood and then feel the understanding come forth. Your Inner Being is just like your frisky two-year old who is eager for life experience. To meet up with your Inner Being just be more like that now.

Abraham-Hicks, 3/15/03

It's not your job to create anybody else's reality. It's your job to create your own reality. And if you will choose things that feel good while you're thinking about it, you're going to have one whopping of a good reality.

Abraham-Hicks, 11/23/02

Thank you, Abraham, with all my heart, for your loving words of wisdom.

Welcome...Velkommen...Bienvenue...Fàilte

My name is Suzanne and I want to welcome you to walk with me awhile on my path as a deliberate creator.

I've been exploring the Abraham-Hicks information about deliberate reality creation for almost five years now. My blog, Finding My Way to Well-being, was about learning to understand and live these ideas. I was complete with the energy of that part of my path last fall and had been posting very irregularly. I've been in a transition phase where change was happening so rapidly I couldn't, and didn't even want to, stop and write about it.

I'm in this great place now...

...not where it's all done

...not where I know everything

...just a place where I am comfortable with these ideas and pretty darned happy to know that I create my own reality by choosing my thoughts. I'm beginning to get the feel of the joyful power of deliberately creating my life experiences.

I'm ready to play!

You are invited to join me at:

Deliberate Creating - My intention for this blog is to post insights and techniques I discover as I choose to create deliberately.

The Creation Box - I get this rush of energy when I think of this one and am really looking forward to it. My intention is to post appreciation and to be a part of the wonderful, magical manifestations in the world.

The Universe, reality and everything. Abraham talks of leading edge exploration. So, this will be my own leading edge where I think out loud about my own ideas of...well...anything to do with reality and being a non-physical being having a physical experience.

I'm having great fun with all of this and I can see much more in store.

Life really is an adventure.

With much love,

Suzanne
