Wednesdays with Abraham: Birds as joyful expressions of Source Energy

Flying Seagull by Paraflyer

Birds, they are the symbol of Freedom. They are the closest thing to absolute, pure freedom you can visually witness in your physical experience. They are so flexible and so mobile and so light and so free and so joyful! They represent the pure essence of your Being -- and that is why you are drawn to them.

Abraham-Hicks, February 8, 1991

The birds of your planet are often messengers or translators of Non-Physical Energy; all beasts are, to a certain extent. But the birds of your planet are used often in that way. Non-Physical Energy, wanting to express something to physical, often finds a bird as a very easy messenger, because the birds are mobile, they are everywhere, and they are willing. And they are vibrationally intuitive, sensitive to vibration more so than most beasts, and therefore pliable to the will, if you will, of the Energy.

Abraham-Hicks, December 9, 2000

In February 2003 I was going through a very difficult time. I was in a living situation that wasn't working out at all, had health issues, hadn't been working and when I found a job, the training was almost more discouraging than not working.

I asked for a sign that I was going in the right direction and as I left training and drove through the large parking lot that cold, gray day a seagull appeared right beside my driver's window. I could have reached out and touched it if my window had been open. I stared at it in amazement as I drove to the end of the parking lot. It flew right beside me the whole time and when I reached the road it flew up and joined a partner that was circling high overhead.

There were several amazing things. One is that I didn't look ahead of me, I looked beside me at the seagull the whole time I drove safely through the parking lot. Another is that I live in the midst of farmland in the midwest, it was winter, and I'm not sure where a seagull could have come from. Maybe a big lake somewhere, but not especially close. They aren't a bird I've seen around here before or since, but I loved them when I used to live near the ocean.

That sweet being that chose to come and encourage me was right. The Universe got me out of that living situation and that job and into much better conditions within a month or two. When it happened it was quick! Started a new job, found a place to move to, packed and moved in 11 days. Things got much better and they get better all the time.

Blessings to our feathered friends. They are so full of joy and life. I love to watch them stretch up on their toes and sing with their whole bodies. Their comings and goings bring me delight.

Angels watch over them and guide us to treasure and cherish them in all that we do. Thank you, Beloved Presence, for Your love through our feathered friends. @>----

I love the birds too, in fact I just took a break fron ceramics to watch the birds (they have recently returned after they were away for a few weeks due to Sweet Pea the cat :-). I missed them so much!
It is indeed weird that you saw seagulls where you were :-). xoxo

Hi Annie,

There is a man-made lake in Indianapolis and my guess is they came from there. I loved Jonathan Livingston Seagull which I read when it came out many years ago and I also loved the ocean and seagulls very much when I lived in Virginia Beach. I would have been amazed at any bird that did that, but I suspect that's why that one volunteered -- to make it absolutely clear that this was a special message of encouragement.

I love that clip, too! It's so funny because he saunters in very casually like no one will notice and then when he grabs the chips his little legs are scurrying!

I was thinking of your ravens when I wrote the post. I'm glad your birds are back. Always nice to have some lovely feathered friends visiting!

I love this post. I have never seen that quote from Abraham before, I love it. I'm going to start paying a lot more attention to birds now. Great story.

Hi Lori,

It's good to have a visit from you. I had tears in my eyes when I wrote that post and it happened over six years ago! I can remember it as if it happened yesterday. I think love is all around us and magic is the natural way of things. Wishing you a bit of magic with our feathered friends.

I hadn't seen or heard those quotes before, but birds have been a very significant part of my journey, they always show up in my art. often when I ask for a sign (because I want clarity on dom ething)I will be sent a bird to show me the way.

Thank you Suzanne for sharing your journey!

Hi Melba,

I've noticed that you have a lot of birds in your art. There is a joy, innocence and liveliness I think they add. I love that they come to you when you ask for clarity. I just love them!

Wishing you some special magic, Melba.
